Egypt

The design concept of our exhibition revolves around the use of new materials, yet utilising traditional design patterns in a modern mannerism. The result is a sophisticated juxtaposition of both horizontál and vertical corbelling and arching systems, in combination with high tech construction systems. Iťs a formalistic complexity within the use of simple pure cultural forms, producing a universal space with robust innovative functional, sociál and communal activities.

Additional information: Born in 1944 in Cairo. In 1959-66 studied architecture at Cairo, Liverpool and London Universities. Currently he works as a professor of architecture and urban planning at Ain Shams University.
