China

The main characteristics of our exhibition are two cultural combinations: the western and the eastern, the traditional and the modern. Various art styles are shown in the creations of the last 5 years. A new tendency in the stage design is the multiple developments of art creation. Chinese designers have been absorbing useful foreign cultural elements for the promotion of Chinese stage design art.

Additional information: Born 1942 in Shanghai. Deputy Dean of the Department of Stage Design at the Central Academy of Drama in Beijing. Professor. Honourary award at the 1987 Prague Quadrennial. Information from catalogue 1999: He graduated from Central Academy of Drama and currently teaches in the Central Academy of Drama. In 1987, 1991 and 1995, he participated in the PQ.

Tianjing
Additional information: Born in 1961 in Tianjing. He graduated from the Central Academy of Drama and currently operates as a stage designer in the Central Theatre of Opera and Ballet.

Additional information: Born in 1959. He graduated from the Central Academy of Drama and from the L'Ecole Superieure d'Art Dramatique in France. Currently operates as a stage designér and teaches in the Central Academy of Drama.
