Gravitation

The dishes have undergone the usual process of flavouring and cooking – the essentials have remained. At last… it is being served. We take the liberty to invite you, to interest you, to draw your attention, to capture and detain you, to transform you into admirers and addicts – to the point that you are nothing but mouths. But! “I can’t stand it anymore” shouted Alice and grabbed the table cloth with both hands. Suddenly and in one go it all fell with a big bang – plates, bowls, guests, candles. (L. Carroll: “Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There” 1871) Is a walk-on sculpture a contradiction in itself as it unjustifiably aims at adjusting to everlasting forms in daylight? Its idea, however, is determined by the darkest of nights and has nothing to do with eternity, but is a most fleeting moment – like an album of photographs quickly flicked through by the wind.
