Old Sea Mask – Mar Monstrum

Play: Mar Monstrum. Company: Naranja Azul. Designer and storyteller: Aarón Govea. The old sea mask works on two levels, the visual image and the quality of movement, all at a slow tempo in order to create the right atmosphere and illusion. This slowness is the crucial element that conveys the idea of an old sailor.

Additional information: Govea holds a master‘s degree in Physical Theatre from the Scuola Teatro Dimitri, Switzerland. Govea graduated from the National School of Theatrical Arts, Mexico and has won awards from National Fund for Culture and Arts, Mexico, and the UNAM Prize for Best Photography in 2008. He has performed in a variety of festivals in Mexico, Switzerland, Spain and the USA.
