Additional information: She studied set design at the Dusseldorf Arts Academy with Karl Kneidl. Since 1994 she has worked in Stuttgart on opera productions with the Director/Dramaturge team Jossi Wieler and Sergio Morabito. Other works include productions at the Salzburg Festival, the Schauspielhaus Hamburg, Volksbuhne Berlin, Frankfurt Opera and Theater Basel. Since the summer 2000 she has been in the management team at the Schauspielhaus Zürich together with Christoph Marthaler. In 2002 she was voted for the fourth time "Set Designer of the Year" in the annual Opernwelt critics' survey for her work on Norma and Ariadne in Naxos.

Additional information: In 1958 he qualified as a carpenter. As a pupil of and assistant to Ambrosius Humm, he designed stage sets for the Städtische Bühnen Nuremberg. From 1960 to 1961 he was assistant in Braunschweig; from 1962 to 1967 he was assistaant to Max Fritzsche in Bochum and also worked independently, and from 1967 to 1969 he had a permanent position. In 1970 he was stage designer at the Schauspielhaus Zürich and has been engaged by Peter Palitzsch to work at the Städtische Bühnen Frankfurt as from 1972. He has done freelance work in Munich, Stuttgart, Berlin and Hamburg. He is professor of set design at the Dussoldorf Arts Academy since 1974 and roceivod the Nuremberg municipal award for culture in 1986.

Additional information: He has worked closely with director Frank Castorf and the Volksbuhne in Berlin, but also with Johan Simons, René Pollesch, Alain Platel and Peter Konwitschny. In 1999 he received the Josef-Kainz-Medal from the City of Vienna and in 2000 the Critics' Award by the Berliner Zeitung. He received the award of "Set Designer of the Year" by the Theater der Zeit magazine in 2002 and in 2003 Berlin's Theatre Prize.

Additional information: He studied at the Berlin-WeiBensee art college, started his career as a film set designer, worked as a set design assistant at Doutsche Oper Berlin, was chief resident set dosigner at the Schauspielhaus in Cologne. He worked with directors such as Thirza Bruncken, Dimiter Gotscheff, Joachim Schlömer, and Christof Nol in Stuttgart, Frankfurt, Borlin, Bonn, Dussoldorf, Hamburg, Cologne and Nuremberg.

Additional information: He studied with Erich Wonder in Vienna, and has worked at the Opera houses in Stuttgart, Köln, Darmstadt, Berlin, Zürich, Basel, Vienna. Paris at the Salzburg Festival as well as at the theatres in Hamburg, Düsseldorf and Zürich, at the Burgtheater in Vienna, the theatre in Basel, the Schillertheater in Berlin and the Freie Volksbühne in Berlin. He received the Berlin Critics' Award in 1990 and was voted "Costume Designer of the Year 2000" in the Opemwelt critics survey. For Stuttgart he created the sets and costumes for Don Giovanni, Giuseppe e Sylvia, Qeen of Spades, Die Meistersinger von Nurnberg and Falstaff.

Additional information: Following his painting studies at the Berlin Arts College he worked as set and costume designer for the Tůbinger Landestheater before joining the Staatstheater Stuttgart in 1972. Here he worked for all three disciplines (Ballet, Drama and Opera). In 1982 he began his collaborations with Ruth Berghaus and Klaus Zehelein in Frankfurt. He started working as a director in 1983 in Stuttgart with Fanferlieschen SchónefůGchen. He was been voted "Set Designer of the Year" in the critics' survey of Theater Heute in 1983 and 1987. In 1985 he took up the professorship for set design at the Vienna Arts College. Axel Manthey died in 1995.
