A METAPHOR OF STAGE DESIGN Ensio Suominen: "Contrary to common belief, scenography is not making illusions nor is theatre an illusion. It is a reality, as real as a musical scherzo or sonata. Stage design, Bühnenbild, must reflect real life - it functions as a metaphor. Realism on a stage is not a style, as it is in painting. This art is shaping reality more through perception than form. With this in mind I have chosen these works to make Homage to Scenography."
