Dmitrij Mochov: "The main task of the stage designer is the search for the equivalent to the real life space in accordance with the offered dramaturgy. For that he needs an image, metaphor and symbol. The impetus which appears gives birth to the creative act, uniting by thoughts and feelings both the producers of the performance and the spectators discovering the world which is called THEATRE."

Additional information: Born in 1943 in Masljanino, Novosibirsk. He studied at the Architectural Faculty of the Belarussian State Polytechnical Institute. In 1968 he graduated from the Belarussian Academy of Arts. He worked on a number of projects for the restoration of Belarussian architectural monuments. He took part in the making of some films at the Belarus Film Studio and Tadjik Film Studio. He also participated in producing theatre performances in Minsk, Moscow, Riga, Kaunas, Baku, Alma-Ata, Tashkent, Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk. He works for musical and drama theatres and has staged about 200 performances. His work - sketches and setting models, graphic works and paintings - were exhibited at the republican and international exhibitions in Belarus, Poland, Russia and Hungary.
