A DOLL'S HOUSE IN THE LABYRINTH OF COMPUTER GAMES
The Slovene pavilion is conceived as a computer game, a labyrinth, a doll's house...inviting the visitor to a playful and spontaneous visit as an act of free will, a play directed by the visitor, who is then paradoxically led to the achievments and phenomena of Slovené theatre arts. That is, of the space and body formed by the set and costume designs of theatre, dance, opera, ballet, puppet theatre and all other forms which constitute the phenomena of Slovene theatre arts over the last five years. Slovene costume and set design towards the end of the millennium is marked by original plays which are bound with new textuře, the deconstruction of the past and the modern within the circle of the "theatrical" and the "real".

- Dunja Zupančič
Specialization: set designer, costume designer, painter , media artist, fashion designer, scenographer
Education: graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana in 1987 with a thesis on Eisenstein and the Russian avant-garde
Participation in other important exhibitions: U3 - 6th Triennial of Contemporary Art in Slovenia: An Idea for Living. Realism and Reality in Contemporary Art in Slovenia - Triennial of Contemporary Slovenian Art, Ljubljana (2010); A Pair of Left Shoes - Reality Check in Eastern Europe - MSU Muzej Suv
Continuing collaboration with directors: DUNJA ZUPANČIČ explores two complex systems in postgravitaty art: empty-body directing and the syntapiens system, and visualises their point of connection. She geometrises all conceptual information about the emptybody directing of Dragan Živadinov.
Additional information: During the 1980s, using processes involving the montage of abstract textures and the construction of composites, Zupančič produced pictures of monumental size. During the 1990s, using the engineering of pneumatic and hydraulic elements, she constructed mechatronic abstracts and art satellites (umbots). On December 15, 1999, she visualized and materialized Biomechanics Noordung, the first complete theatrical production performed in conditions of zero gravity. Since 2000, she has devoted herself to substitutes of corporeality, which she translates into amorphous structures with the help of digital tools. In 2007, she devised an art satellite/technological demonstrator for a 50-year theatre production. Her closest visual collaborator is Miha Turšič.
