The National exhibition represents selected works of four Egyptians who are very active now in the field of scenery and costumes for the Egyptian theatre productions. The four stage designers represent the new generation seeking new trends in the field of relations between scenery and space ilusion. The exhibition demonstrates trends in scenography from expressionism to realism with clear individuality of each exhibitor. The exhibition indicates the high creative ability and fantasy of the four exhibitors in the sense of scenography with the regard and concern of different stage forms.

• Mohamed Ibrahim Al Fawi

Additional information: Born in 1949. Graduated from Academy of Arts in Cairo, specialisation on light effects in theatre. Operates as stage and lighting designer and also as assistant / teacher in Drama Department of Helwan University in Cairo. In the frame of student section participated in the PQ in 1983. Received the National Theatre Award.

Additional information: Born in 1951 in Tripoli, Lebanon. Graduated from Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels. Currently operates as stage and costume designér and director of Cairo Opera and Dance Theatre in Cairo. In 1978 received Al Bayati / Orange Prize - Bagnolet in Paris, the Critic Prize at the IV. International Experimental Theatre Festival in Cairo in 1992, The Best Scenography in 1995 and The Best Stage Director in 1997.

Additional information: Born in 1944 in Cairo. Graduated from American University in Cairo, Stage Design Courses and from Leonardo da Vinci School of Art in Cairo, Painting Courses. Currently operates as a freelance stage designér, short film director and teaches at Egyptian University and American University in Cairo. Received 37 local and international prizes and awards for his design work in film, television and theatre.
