Revitalization of the historical building of the Jonáš Záborský Theatre in Prešov
The historical building in Prešov, built according to the project of Arpád Répaszký in 1881, is the oldest still functioning theatre building only in Slovakia. Until 1991 there was the Jonáš Záborský Theatre. At that time the new theatre was opened and the historical building, which needed radical reconstruction, was closed. The main idea of the project of reconstruction by Štefan Mitro was to preserve the original materials and technical solutions. His design can be characterized as the project of a revitalization of the historical building. In the area, which was not necessary for the run of the theatre, new halls of Theatrical Museum will be built.
