Curator: | Helga Dostal |
RAKOUSKO
The participation of Austria in the Third Prague Quadrennial only became certain at the last moment, i.e. mid-November 1975. The three workers concerned had a bare fourteen days to collect the exhibits and prepare the catalogue. An attempt was made in the section for stage and costume design to lay special emphasis on the theatres in the Austrian provinces, and to give as much space as possible to those artists who are taking part for the first time in the Prague Quadrennial. The schools for stage and costume design have been documented on the one hand through the work of the students /Academy of Music and Dramatic Art Graz, Academy of Applied Art Vienna/ and on the other through a presentation of the methods of teaching /Academy of Music and Dramatic Art "Mozarteum" Salzburg, Academy of Applied Art Vienna/. The field of architecture is represented by the already completed Theater im Künstlerhaus /Vienna/ and the projected Festival and Congress House in Bregenz, on which work is about to begin.
