Additional information: Graduated from the Academy for Performing Arts in Prague and currently operates in Puppet Theatre Drak. He teaches puppet theatre stage design at the Academy for Performing Arts in Prague (DAMU). Exhibited at the PQ in 1971, 1979, 1983, 1987, 1991 and 1995.
Additional information: Born in 1942 in Prague. Since 1979 he has been a lecturer at the Department of Stage Design at the Theatrical Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. He has cooperated as a stage and costume designer with the majority of theatres both in Prague and elsewhere in the country. In 1972 at the Triennial of Stage and Costume Design in Novi Sad he received a Gold Medal for stage design (collective) and a Silver Medal for costume designs (collective). He exhibited at the PQ in 1971 and in 1975.

After having completed his studies in 1964, he is above all at work at the F. X. Šalda Theatre in Liberec. He concerns himself also with setting for puppet theatres (The Naive Theatre in Liberec, Studio Y), with graphic works and painting. He took part in numerous exhibitions at home and abroad.

in Norway and working at the National Theatre in Oslo, first as a stage designer, now as
chief stage designer. Lecturer at the State Theatre School and at the School of Architecture
in Oslo. He took part in the Prague Quadrennial 1967, where he awarded a silver medal for
stage design.

After having completed his studies in 1951, he started work at the Army Artistic Theatre in Prague. Since 1960 he has been at work as décor chief of the E. F. Burian Theatre in Prague. Since 1952 non-staff member of the Army Art Theatre, for which she designs programmes and posters, since 1953 costume designer and two years later joins the staff. She mainly cooperated with the directors E. F. Burian, K. Novák and O. Krejča. Her most significant stage sets are: The Rat-Catcher, White Nights, Věra Lukášova, The Rhinoceros, Rose Tatoo and End of the Carnival. She participated in the I. Exhibition of Czechoslovak Stage Design in Brno, in the Biennial in Sao Paulo, in Rio de Janeiro, in Berlin (GDR), Sofia, Budapest and London.
Additional information: Born in 1926 at Mladá Boleslav. Studied under prof. Mokrý and Baláž at the State School of Graphic Arts and the special line of applied painting under prof. J. Novák at the Arts and Crafts College in Prague. Since 1955 stage designer of the Slovak National Theatre in Bratislava. His creation aims predominantly at applied graphic art, above all at posters, at book graphic art and at exhibition concerns. Among his significant scenographic realizations are sets to The Physicists, Elopement to Silence, Hamlet, A Streetcar Named Desire, Where the Foxes Say Good-night, Don Carlos, Our Swaggerers. He has participated in all Slovak exhibitions of applied art and of decorative industrial arts in Bratislava, abroad in exhibitions of contemporary art ín Vienna, Budapest and Berlin. He realized there sets for dramas, opéras, operettas and also for ballets, collaborating within the recent years predominantly with the stage directors R. Koval, M. Nekvasil and V. Hamšík. To his most important designs belong the stage sets for Richard III, After the Fall, Médea, Saint Joan, Julius Caesar, The Seagull and The Shrewd. He took part in a number of exhibitions at home and abroad. As co-author he has participated in the publication Richard III, an analysis of the staging at the State Theatre in Ostrava. After having graduated he started work at the J. Záborský Theatre in Prešov, since 1956 he has been engaged by the New Scene in Bratislava where he is working up to this date. Vaňátko at the Theatre of Young Pioneers, and subsequently passed over to the Workers' Theatre in Gottwaldov. Between 1950 and 1962 he was chief designer of the State Theatre in Brno. In 1954 he was awarded the State Prize for his décor to the play Stalingrad. To his most important designs belong the stage sets for Mysteria Buffa, The Ascent of Arturo Ui, The Assassination of Marat and Julius Caesar, which he has realized in a collaboration with stage director E. In 1935 he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts; between 1939 and January 1978 he was the chief stage designer of the Municipal Theatres of Prague. He has designed more than 400 stage sets and costumes, the most important of which are Tyl' s The Shoemakers' Fair, Shaw' s Androcles and the Lion and a number of Shakespearean productions. He often works as a specialized costume designer and is the foremost representative of this specialization in our theatres /Jeppe of the Hill, The Pretenders, The Lentern/. He has colleborated also with a number of domestic and foreign theatres and often elso with films and television. Additional information: Born 1907 in Liepàjà (Latvia). Between 1945-1977 he has been working as chief stage designer at the South Bohemian Theatre in České Budějovice. Author of the round stage theatre in Český Krumlov (realized in 1956) on the site of courtyard at Karlštejn castle he designed a variable theatre space (1968) and a polydimensional theatre device in open air in Mexico in 1977. He participated in the Prague Quadrennial 1967,1971,1975,1979 and 1987.

Additional information: Born 1934 in Jur near Bratislava. Studied at the Technical College and the College of Music and Drama in Bratislava. From 1958 guest designer with the Czechoslovak Television in Bratislava; in 1959 appointed its permanent head of design. Also guest designer with foreign television studios, in Warsaw, Vienna and Sofia, and witíh numerous Czech and Slovak theatres, the SNP Theatre in Martin, the State Theatre in Košice, and the Prague J. Wolker Theatre. Among his best are sets for Shaffeťs Black Comedy, for Čapek's The Macropulos Secret, Chekhov's Chameleon, Sartre's Altona, Gogol's Dead Souls, Rusnák's Good Night, Foxes ! and Bukovčan's Before Daybreak.

In 1947 she was admitted to the Arts and Crafts College, to the class of prof. Ant. Strnadel (free graphic arts being above all oriented to designs for ethnographic publications, to traditional and historical costumes). She is the author of illustrations for the book History of Traditional Costumes (Edition Orbis). Since 1957 she is at work as costume designer for the Municipal Theatre at Kolín, the National Theatre in Prague, the Realistic Theatre in Prague, and for the theatres in Ostrava, Brno, Bratislava as well as for the film and the télévision. In 1963 she organized an individual exposition in the foyer of the Rokoko Theatre in Prague.

After a period of study of architecture at the Prague Polytechnical University he graduated in 1949 at the Theatrical Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. In 1948 he became employed as a stage designer at the S.K. Neumann Theatre in Prague-Libeň, where he later became the chief stage designer. He has collaborated with a number of theatres in Czechoslovakia, as well as abroad / the USSR, the German Democratic Republic, Hungary, Poland, Austria and Belgium/. He frequently also collaborates with films and television and sometimes works as an exhibition designer and graphic artist. Among his most interesting stage designs in recent years are Hrubín' s The Crystal Night, Corneille' s L' Illusion comique, Shakespeare' s Twelfth Night, Ostrovski' s Wolves and Sheep, Arbuzov' s In the Twelfth Hour, Petrov' s The Three Musketeers after Thirty Years and Klicpera' s The Magical Hat /the majority were done at the S.K. Neumann Theatre/ ; in Düsseldorf he designed the production of Chekhov' s Platonov and for the theatre at Lodž in Poland the sets for Maryša by the Mrštík brothers. He participated in collective exhibitions of Czech stage designers, most recently in Opava in 1977. He also participated in the Prague Quadrennial in 1971 and in 1975.

Additional information: Born in 1939 at Písek. Between 1956 and 1960 he studied at the College of Pedagogics under prof. K. Lidický, and in 1965 he graduated from the Academy of Musical and Dramatic Arts under prof. Fr. Tröster. From 1965—1966 he was at work as décor chief at the Vítězslav Nezval Theatre in Karlovy Vary, during the season 1966—67 he passed through a qualifying period under Roger Planchon at the Théâtre de la Cité de Villeurbanne, since the season 1967—68 until 1970 at the Volkstheater Rostock, and since 1970 at the Deutsches Theater und Kammerspiele in Berlin.

He was the chief stage designer at the Theatre of the Working People at Gottwaldov, at the State Theatre in Ostrava and at the Municipal Theatre in Kladno where he has designed a number of expressive stage designs /Macbeth, Faust and others/. He also collaborates with a number of Czech theatres as a costume and stage designer. At present he is an assistant to the chief stage designer at the J.K. Tyl Theatre in Plzeň.

He has realized more than 200 stage and costume designs for the State Theatre in Brno and for other theatres, for the Czechoslovak Television and the like. He took part in exhibitions in Berlin, Erfurt, Dortmund, in member exhibitions of the Association of Czechoslovak Artists in Brno, with the creative group of stage and costume designers „Brno 1965" in Gottwaldov,Jihlava and at Český Krumlov. Since 1945 he has been acting as stage designer, and subsequently as décor chief, at the theatre Slovácké divadlo in Uherské Hradiště, at the theatre Severomoravské divadlo at Šumperk, at the Julius Fučík Theatre and at the Theatre of Mrštík Brothers in Brno. He took part in a number of exhibitions; in the Exhibition of Stage and Costume Design 1945—1960 in Brno in 1960, in the exhibition Bühnenebildner der Jugendtheater in der ČSSR (G. D. R., Akademie der Künste Berlin), in exhibitions in Leipzig, Dresden, Erfurt, in the exhibition 15 Years of the Julius Fučík Theatre, Brno 1960, in the Interscena in Prague in 1966, in the exhibition Théâtre pour la Jeunesse dans le monde entier in Munich in 1967. He had exhibitions with the group „Brno 65" at Český Krumlov in 1966, in Gottwaldov in 1967 and In other towns. Up to now he has brought into effect mcre than 300 décors. For his scenographic work he has been awarded the Silver Medal of the Theatrical Harvest and the Mark of Distinction as Exemplary Worker of the Ministry of Culture. He is a presidency member of the Technical Council of the Scenographic Institute in Prague. He lectures at the drama and dance department of the Conservatoire in Brno.

Since then he collaborates with the theatre Východočeské divadlo in Pardubice externally. Since 1942 he was décor chief at the theatre at Kladno, since 1945 at the F. X. Šalda Theatre in Liberec, and from 1950 up to now he holds this function at the Oldřich Stibor Theatre in Olomouc. He collaborates with almost all the Czechoslovak theatres. Abroad he has brought into efíect stage sets for the Comic Opera in Berlin and for Bayreuth. He is the author of some 500 décors. Apart from that he makes projects of exhibitions and interiors (recently the interiors of the Musical Theatre in Olomouc). Since 1950 he is the holder of the Dinstiction for Prominent Work.
