* 1938, Sundsvall Specialization: set designer, costume designer Additional information: Trained as constructional engineer; he worked for seven years at an architectural office. Since 1958 he co-operates with the Studenťs Drama Theatre in Stockholm. In 1964 he co-founded the experimental Pistolteatern. In 1968 he designed the décor for the performance of „Hair" at the Stockholm Scalateatern. Within the recent years he has been at work at the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm. In 1970 he designed the settings for Mahagonny by Brecht-Weill at the Royal Opera House in Stockholm. He has taken part in various experimental productions in Sweden and abroad, for instance at Nancy in France and in New York. He is a member of the group Theatre Projects which is trying to bring into effect a new conception of stage design in the sense od the „total theatre".
Additional information: Born in 1919 in Stockholm. Architect, graduate of the Royal University of Technology (1949), the Royal Academy of Art (1946). Between 1948 and 1950 he studied in France and the U. S. A. In 1953/54 he was at work as city architect. At present he acts as consulting architect in the field of public construction engineering. He is the author of the project to the Cutural House at Skövde (1964). He has been writing articles in news- papers and architectural magazines on architectural, cultural and environmental subjects. His book Room for Culture has been published in Stockholm in 1970. Since 1969 he is a member of the National Council for Cultural Affairs. He has participated as a delegate in several symposiums of Unesco and of the European Council referring to cultural problems.
