In 1968 he originated the Minoru Nishi Institute of Architecture Planning. The University in Waseda belongs to his significant works. In his works he is trying to stamp on the modern architecture, which is bound by laws of rationality, the touch of humanity.

He graduated írom the Tokyo Imperial University in 1940, and in the same year he became a member of the Sakakura Association of Architects and Engineers. His most important constructions are the College Building in Hannan, the City Halls in Ueno and Hiraoce, the town centre in Ashiya, the Stadium in Osaka, the Kansai Club, the Mino Hotel, the Blue Sky Hotel, the Nankai Building, the social centre of the new town of Senri, the Takashimaya Factory, the Shionogi Laboratories and a number of residential premises. At the construction of modern buildings he utilizes elements of Japanes classical architecture.
