Stage and costume design is the main section of the competition, divided into the various national exhibits. It is left up to the stage designers' discretion whether their concept will be focused on history, theory or monography of stage design or whether they choose contemporary stage design and its problems. The international jury will award in this main section of the Prague Quadrennial the major prize of the Golden Triga to the best foreign exhibit, for its general arrangement, content, documentation and realization of the exhibit, for the artistic value of the individual items on exhibit and total architectural concept of the exhibit. The Czechoslovak exhibit does not participate in the competition. The international jury will furthermore award a gold medal to the best stage designer and costume designer from abroad for the best set of works on exhibits.
