The Mexican theatre and the scenographic creation is represented at the Prague Quadrennial by the University Theatre belonging to the most progressive groups of Central America. In European competitions the works of this theatre has been awarded the Grand Prix of the World Festival of University Theatres in Nancy in 1964, a special jury's award at the International Festival of Culture in Warsaw in 1965, the Silver Medal of the University in Reims and special recognition of the jury of the Nations' Theatre in Paris in 1965. At the Prague Quadrennial the Mexican University Theatre will present itself with its designs for the experimental production of Ch. Marlowe's The Tragic History of Doctor Faustus from 1966, and will in this way prove the modern conception of production and of space and the collaboration of stage and costume designer.
