Additional information: Born 1896 in Vienna, architect, university professor. Completed his studies of architecture in Vienna in 1922 having studied under prof. Ferstel, Krausz, Simony, Holey and Theiss. From 1928 to 1934 worked as O. Strnaďs assistant at the Vienna school of Applied Arts and with C. Holzmeister at the Master School of Architecture of Academy of Art in Vienna. He was in charge of the P. Behrens Master School of Architecture at the Academy of Art in Vienna and from 1936- 1938 professor at the same school. In 1945- 1952 ha was professor of architecture at the Academy of Art. In 1946 he became special professor for civil architecture at the Vienna Technical College. In 1952 he became professor and head of the Institute of Civil Architecture at the Vienna Technical College. During his activities at the Poelzig Studio he participated in the reconstruction of the Grosses Schauspielhaus and with stage designer Strnad designed a number of theatre buildings. Since 1964 he is working on the reconstruction of the Regional Theatre of Tyrol. He has designed theatres for Sydney, Malta and Hamburg.
