Every object on stage is more than the sum of its parts, gaining their significance in relation to other elements such as direction, action, set, costumes, lights, sounds and audience. Objects imply time or space, carry on the plot or tell a story.

Additional information: A mother of three lovely young women, and soon to be a grandmother, I have a loving husband and a wild garden. Prop designer at the Finnish National Opera since autumn 2008. Props maker in several theatres and the Theatre Academy in Helsinki between 1992–2008. MA from the Faculty of Arts, University of Helsinki (Master thesis: The Role of Props in the Performing Arts) 2013.
