Harakanay. Incognita Tribe of Tribes. - Student project

A SOLO TALKING COSTUME HARAKANAY will be an individual/collective event taking the form of a conspiracy of 25 to 30 persons, performing as One Tribe of Five Tribes from HURAKAN•EYETHE (costume impact, music, weather, politics), a past workshop at Space Lab, from June 23-28. The idea is to match the one to the many-in-one, of unknown, incognita global participants, conducted by MER with CDG members. Their unveiled emotional ideas will build a costume of costumes, acting as a common, multiple work in motion, masking and unmasking their perforated 'body and soul' in a loud, whirling, inner/outer SOLO COSTUME.

Additional information: María Elena Roqué Catalan-Venezuelan iconoclast artist. Character - Costume, props maker for stage. Dancer, model, performer in contemporary visual and performing arts. 1968-1980 Studied psychology, anthropology, dance, theatre. Collaborated with a variety of artists and companies worldwide, travelling to research a wide variety of music, dance, patterns, textiles, industrial materials, ethnic and popular crafts and modern textiles for her open, contemporary Live Costumes. 1980 Focus on the composition and building of the performer’s character as an action in itself and measured \'work in progress\' on stage while transforming from a fragmented costume, evolving into the main visual’s dynamic drama axis. Co-founded, as creator and artistic director, the Companyia Carles Santos (1985-2010) with musician Carles Santos in Barcelona. Works presented mainly at national and international theatre and music festivals and special events, including the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona. Retrospective exhibitions of all work done during the past 25 years (F. Miró, M. Textil I d’Indumentaria de Barcelona, Musée des Tissus et des Arts Décoratifs du Lyon). Most recent awards for trajectory in Visual Arts for theatre, Fad 2007 and Serra d’Or 2010, Barcelona. Exhibition of some of her costumes at LES INSOLITES, CNCS Moulins-France, from 29 January to 5 May 2011. Next large retrospective at Museu de l’Estampació de Premià de Mar from 21 May in Barcelona. In June Roqué will participate together with the Spanish representation in a live costume exhibition the PQ Extreme Costume section and conduct a workshop of Live Costume at the Scenofest workshops. She will also participate in an event called \'Tecla Cernuda\' at the Instituto Cervantes in Prague. She exhibited at PQ in 1999.
